Brisbane (SNP Report): Pakistan’s white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan, fresh from guiding his team to a landmark ODI series victory in Australia, is now setting his sights on an ambitious clean sweep in the upcoming three-match T20I series. This series, which marks Rizwan’s first as captain since succeeding Babar Azam, begins on November 14 at The Gabba in Brisbane.

The ODI series win was Pakistan’s first on Australian soil in 22 years, ending a drought since 2002. After an opening two-wicket loss, Pakistan staged a remarkable comeback to win the remaining two matches, securing a 2-1 series triumph and cementing Rizwan’s leadership with a historic achievement.

Following the ODI victory, Rizwan delivered an inspiring address in the dressing room, expressing confidence that Pakistan’s unity and collective performance could lead to a whitewash in the T20Is. “No one expected us to beat Australia in Australia,” Rizwan remarked. “But we played as a united front, and if we continue like this, we can aim for a T20I whitewash.”

Rizwan also motivated his teammates to look beyond the series, urging them to aspire to major titles on the world stage. “It’s good to celebrate this ODI win, as few believed we could achieve it here,” he said. “But we must set our sights on even bigger goals—winning the Champions Trophy, the World Cup—to demonstrate the full potential of Pakistan cricket.”

The T20I series continues with matches on November 16 at the Sydney Cricket Ground and concludes on November 18 at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
