Melbourne (Agencies): Cricket enthusiasts can anticipate a spectacular transformation of the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) into a Cricket Mela during the upcoming Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan, as Cricket Australia unveils plans to create a vibrant Pakistan Fan Zone outside Gate 4.

“This three-day activation aims to provide fans with an immersive and culturally rich experience, blending cricket with entertainment and tradition,” said a spokesperson of Cricket Australia (CA).

Adding a touch of tradition, the fan zone will feature traditional Char Pai’s (woven beds), offering fans a unique and comfortable space to soak in the excitement of the game in a setting reminiscent of the homeland. A dedicated fan-walk on the first day of the Test promises to be a visual spectacle, allowing passionate Pakistan supporters to showcase their unwavering support for the visiting team.

To spice up the festive atmosphere, a special tape ball cricket match is scheduled, bringing the essence of traditional street cricket to the MCG. The culinary delights at the fan zone include a Halal Desi food truck, ensuring a diverse and delightful array of flavors for all attendees.

For an enhanced match-day experience, participation zones will be scattered throughout the activation, offering fans various engaging activities. The entertainment crescendos with a live performance by the talented Faisal Amlani on the morning of Day 1, setting the stage for an unforgettable Test match.

For those seeking a more relaxed viewing experience, ‘The Outfield’ provides a designated area complete with deck chairs, bean bags, and picnic rugs. This space caters to fans looking for shade or those who prefer to stay close to the action outside the stadium.

The MCG’s metamorphosis into a Cricket Carnival promises not only thrilling cricket but also an unparalleled celebration of culture and fandom, making the #AUSvPAK Boxing Day Test a must-attend event for cricket lovers of all ages.
